Shipping day

We have spent many weeks sorting, discarding, selling and generally lightening our load. Last night we completed grouping up all our “must haves” into select piles for shipping.

We have family photos, special papers & books, select camping gear, bike riding gear and equipment, overflow of clothes that won’t fit in our carry-on bags, and kitchen favorite gear (though nothing with an electrical cord - they have different voltage and plugs in Australia).

This morning the packers have arrived. They will (hopefully) squeeze our items into a 7’ x 4’ x 7’ tall crate we ordered. In turn, it will be fitted inside a larger shipping container.

From here our gear is taken to taken California, then shipped to Sydney Australia. From Sydney, it is sent by ground freight to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland - to an address we have yet to provide… because we don’t have a new home location yet.

We Are Shipped!

Our stuff packaged to put in the crate.

All our stuff fit into the tall wooden crate!

Day’s end. Done.
